Yet Another Question for the Bureaucrats

Private and unofficial discussions with a couple of senior staff of the European Parliament and the Commission, both of whom are worried about their pension rights, albeit for different reasons, I have put down the following written question:
Tax Status of Senior Staff
Is there a special tax status for senior staff working for, and advisors seconded to, the European Council, Commission or Parliament?
How might that tax status be affected if they either currently or subsequently are domiciled in a non-EU country?
