In this eye-opening interview, this survivor of Auschwitz remembers being approached by a man who brought him paper to write a letter to his family, but nothing to write with. After asking for a pencil, the man pointed to chimney stacks in the distance with smoke coming out of them, indicating that there was no point in writing a letter; his family was already dead.
