Brzezinski: Shoot down Israeli planes?

Trilateral Commission

Zbigniew Brzezinski states that if Israel were to launch a preemptive attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, the U.S. should intercept their planes over Iraq and shoot them down if they refuse to turn back."We are not exactly impotent little babies," he says.

Brzezinski: Shoot down Israeli planes?

By Patrick Wood, Editor

In a revealing and shocking interview with The Daily Beast, Zbigniew Brzezinski gave an update on his latest foreign policy thinking.

Brzezinski pointedly rubber-stamped Obama's decision to drop the missile shield in Eastern Europe, but criticized the insensitive way that the news was delivered to the Poles.

But since the missile shield is tied to U.S. policy toward Iran, the interview quickly turned to Israel's possible preemptive attack on Iranian nuclear facilities.

Q. How aggressive can Obama be in insisting to the Israelis that a military strike might be in America’s worst interest?
Brzezinski: We are not exactly impotent little babies. They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?

Q. What if they fly over anyway?
Brzezinski: Well, we have to be serious about denying them that right. That means a denial where you aren’t just saying it. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a Freedom from arbitrary or despotic government or control; freedom from external or foreign rule; independence; the right and power to act, believe, or express oneself in a manner of one\'s own choosing.  in reverse. [Israeli jet fighters and torpedo boats attacked the USS Liberty in international waters, off the Sinai Peninsula, during the Six-Day War in 1967. Israel later claimed the ship was the object of friendly fire.]

When Brzezinski says, "they have the choice of turning back or not," the "or not" clearly means shoot the planes down if they refuse to turn back.

This is a new boldness in anti-Israel policy, which would turn an important ally into an enemy combatant.

Brzesinski co-founded the A private organization founded in 1973 by David Rockefeller and Zbigniew Brzezinski. Perpetual membership of around 300 covering Europe, Japan and the North America. Elite membership consists of corporate directors, scholars and high-ranking politicians.

with David Rockefeller in 1973. Jimmy Carter was chosen and groomed for the 1976 presidential race by Brzezinski, who was subsequently appointed National Security Adviser following Carter's inauguration.

Both Carter and Brzezinski have held anti-Israeli views, and Carter's book "Peace, Not Apartheid" is considered by many to be outright anti-Semitic. Obama's anti-Israel bias is revealed in his recent award of the coveted Medal of Freedom to Mary Robinson, the former President of Ireland. Robinson is a also member of the Trilateral Commission, and is outspoken in her anti-Semitic views.

This story was also reported on WorldNetDaily but no mention was made regarding Brzezinski's association with the Trilateral Commission.
