Oblunder! Anointed One Disses Europe
European leaders learned--from the media--that U.S. President Barack Obama will not be attending the EU meeting in Madrid. Click here for the story.
Of course, he won't attend. The Anointed One is only interested in engaging "the Muslim world," and Europe has not yet been absorbed into the supposed, supranational Islamic nation, in spite of Obama's appeasement of nuclear-arming, Islamist Iran, backing for burqa-wearers in France, and endorsement of Islamist-leaning Turkey's bid for EU membership. Obama finds Western democracies boring and annoying.
Will China Attack Taiwan if Iran Attacks Israel?
If Iran attacks Israel, directly, or indirectly--through its proxies Hamas and Hezbollah--China will probably attack Taiwan, believing that a distracted and weakened United States, headed by a weak, appeasement-prone President, will not intervene in a cross-Strait conflict, and, instead, will allow the self-ruled, island democracy--which China regards as a renegade province--to be conquered.
That is the view of a growing number of analysts across Asia, from Japan to India.
China intends to take Taiwan back by force, they say; and the U.S. is no position to engage in a head-on clash with China for a whole host of reasons (to use a favorite Obama expression), including China's willingness to attack the U.S. asymmetrically and U.S. financial dependence on China.
