CHINA CONFIDENTIAL

NETANYAHU SNUBBED, SENT HOME WITH 13 OBAMA DEMANDS;

SATURDAY DEADLINE

The reporting is accurate ... and shocking.

Unfortunately, China Confidential predicted this--
here.

The President is pushing the Saudi peace plan, and there really is nothing of substance for Israel to negotiate, in his opinion. In fact, his mind was made up before taking office, as reported
here.

For the United States to be publicly pressuring Israel in such an unprecedented manner while
softening the sanctions plan for Iran speaks volumes about the Obama administration's approach to the Middle East, and sends so many wrong signals on so many levels that it boggles the mind. Obama is effectively helping Iran to change the status quo in the region. His long-term strategy, however, may be to seek to strengthen Saudi Arabia at Israel's expense--i.e. to try to counter rising Iranian influence in the Middle East by forcing Israel to accept a peace plan for which Saudi Arabia will be given the credit. A dysfunctional family business disguised as a country, Saudi Arabia--like the Obama administration--may be resigned to living with an Iranian nuclear weapons state. The Saudis know that it is too late for sanctions to stop Iran's atomic advance.

In any event, Israel's status seems to have been lowered from that of a strategic ally to an annoying client state. Given Iran's intentions--with respect to the U.S. and Israel--the developments are deeply disturbing.
