On the contrary, it was the commonly-held view among the officials dealing with Iraq that any threat had been effectively contained. I remember on several occasions the UK team stating this view in terms during our discussions with the US (who agreed). (At the same time, we would frequently argue, when the US raised the subject, that "regime change" was inadvisable, primarily on the grounds that Iraq would collapse into chaos.) This process of exaggeration was gradual, and proceeded by accretion and editing from document to document, in a way that allowed those participating to convince themselves that they were not engaged in blatant dishonesty. But this process led to highly misleading statements about the UK assessment of the Iraqi threat that were, in their totality, lies.' The FIFA World Cup is over and Wimbledon is finished too. What will we watch on TV now? Hey isn’t there some golf thing on next week? What about Big Brother? Or how about X-Factor, CSI or the not so latest, mind numbing ‘riotous teen comedy’? Maybe not, maybe we should be a little more concerned with what’s happening in the real world? How about the fact that the Irish people are being asked to bail out, in the case of Anglo Irish Bank, anything upto and beyond €33.5 BILLION, plus bailing out another 3 ‘robber baron’ banks, Irish Nationwide, AIB and Bank of Ireland who are to get AT LEAST another €9.7 BILLION with already cries of ‘we need more’ being heard from the crooks of the banking world. This amounts to almost €45 BILLION for starters.' Welcome to financial warfare in the post-globalization period.' It emerged on Sunday that Moat had been seen walking through the village in daylight a few hours before he was found and that police had overlooked a bright orange T-shirt that the fugitive had been wearing but discarded. Moat’s brother, Angus, also claimed that the police refused his offer to act as a mediator during the stand-off and suggested that his brother may have shot himself through an “involuntary reaction” after being hit by Tasers. He likened it to “a public execution”.' But now researchers have found that one of Roundup's inert ingredients can kill human cells, particularly embryonic, placental and umbilical cord cells.
The new findings intensify a debate about so-called "inerts" the solvents, preservatives, surfactants and other substances thaat manufacturers add to pesticides. Nearly 4,000 inert ingredients are approved for use by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.'
