Danny Yatom called Sunday for a coalition of Western air forces to attack Iran's nuclear facilities, as reported here.
U.S. President Barack Obama must be delighted.
As predicted, Turkey's crypto-Islamist government, which Obama backs, has won a significant victory.
Turkey's still secular men and women must be worried. The so-called constitutional reforms constitute a death blow to the system that Turkey's military so staunchly defended.
New prediction: Obama will step up support for Turkey, including its bid to join the European Union, even though the United States is not an EU member and has no standing in the issue. A supposedly moderate Islamist Turkey--moderate Islamism is an oxymoron similar to moderate Nazism--is key to Obama's Brzezinski-influenced, Central Asia policy. In spite of all that has happened since the Afghan jihad, the hoary idea that fascistic, fundamentalist Islam can effectively be exploited without horrific blowback--and used as a sword against Russia (and also against China)--is alive and well in Washington.
