Woodie Guthrie-Fisherman comments in Daily Express

THIS LAND IS OUR LAND.

27.11.10, 7:22am

It has been agonising watching our country being stolen from us one EU diktat at a time.

I used to be a fisherman. I would stand on the heaving deck, exhausted, pulling the nets and swallowing my vomit so others did not slip and catch a foot in a coiled rope, or a hand in a tangled mesh. Lashed, day and night by freezing winds and raging seas. By rain and hail and snow and sleet and stinging spray. Like seaman everywhere there were times when I would bemoan my lot, yet even so, I loved it. I was a proud working man showing my love for my family by bringing home the means to honestly feed and clothe us all. Then, little by little, I watched as the EU stole our fishing grounds and destroyed our industry. In the end the skipper sold our boat and gear. There was nothing else he could do. I left the sea and wept bitter tears on the harbour side that day.

While my livelihood went down the pan with that of so many others because of the EU, Neil Kinnock went there to his new job as an EU Commissioner to claim a fortune in tax payers cash in a show of breath taking Socialist hypocrisy. I knew then I would never vote Labour again.

This from the Sunday Times dated June 14th 2009

"GLENYS KINNOCK, the new minister for Europe, has amassed six publicly funded pensions worth £185,000 per year with her husband Neil, the former leader of the Labour party.

They have already received up to £8m of taxpayers’ money in pay and allowances, he as a European commissioner and she as a member of the European parliament."

Then along came CAST IRON Dave.

Writing in the Sun newspaper on 5 Nov 2009 a day most of us celebrate a different kind of treason being discovered and stopped, he said:

"TWO years ago I made you a promise. In the pages of this paper I pledged that if I became PM a Conservative government would hold a referendum on the EU Treaty before it was ratified.

It was a guarantee that on my watch the British people would have their say on our future in Europe. But this week that treaty was signed and will soon become law.

No one likes to admit defeat, but you know - as I know - that sadly our battle to stop this EU Treaty has come to an end. On December 1 that treaty will be set in legal cement. A referendum cannot change that now. On that day Brussels will suck important powers away from Britain.

We'll lose a load of national vetoes, the EU will have new powers over our criminal justice system, asylum and immigration, and there'll be a new EU President.

The finger of blame for this points directly at one man: Gordon Brown. It was his party that promised a referendum in the 2005 election and his party that broke that promise.

With a smile on his face, he signed away powers from Britain to Brussels without asking any of you. One swipe of his pen was a slap in the face of 60million Brits - and democracy itself. And of course Labour's legacy goes far beyond the surrender to Europe.

They've left a catalogue of catastrophes that need urgent attention. The biggest debt in our peacetime history. A political system distrusted. A society blighted by crime and poverty. On top of that, we're fighting a war in Afghanistan.

The to-do list for the next government is long and daunting. That is why I know that if we win that election, we cannot afford to waste time having a row with Europe.

But that does not mean we are going to meekly surrender to some new European order. If the Conservatives are elected, Brussels will find a new kind of British government - one with a backbone, one willing to stand up for our interests and independence.

After Brown's betrayal, you deserve to know exactly where we stand on Europe. If we win that election, we'll start by making sure what happened with the EU Treaty can never happen again.

A Conservative government will make it the law that future governments will have to ask the British people before any more powers are handed over to Brussels. A referendum lock to which only you - the voters - have the key. That will cover any future attempt to take us into the Euro too.

Next we'll fight for three specific guarantees over powers that we believe should belong to Britain, not the EU.

First, bringing back powers over social and employment laws. While businesses struggle through this recession, it is outrageous that rules from Brussels add to their burden. And we can't afford the NHS to be mucked about by EU working time rules either.

Second, we want a guarantee that the Charter of Fundamental Rights will not be used by EU judges to add to EU law affecting the UK. Third, we want to pull back powers so that EU judges can't gain creeping control over the British criminal justice system.

And finally, we will enshrine Britain's independence in law by taking a Sovereignty Bill through Parliament. This would guarantee that the final word on our laws is here in the UK.

I never got the chance to give Britain the referendum we all desperately wanted. But here is my promise to you today:

If the Conservatives are in government, this country will never be a bit-part player in some European superstate. Britain must remain a sovereign and independent nation, free to act not in the interests of the Euro bureaucrats, but in the interests of our people."

When I read that I knew I was being lied to again! Europe is already a superstate. Its grimy fingers are slowly easing into every part of our lives and costing us a fortune in the process. We are paying for our own demise as a nation. Cameron's words, you will notice, do everything BUT promise to get us out. He wants us to believe that we can stay in and influence the EU from inside its corrupt belly. In other words, he wants us to be swallowed by the dragon so we can give it indigestion now and again.

To try and allay our worries and fears he tells us that we must, "remain a sovereign and independent nation." Too late Cameron. That status went up the wall when Brown signed the Lisbon Treaty and what is more, YOU KNOW IT DAVY BOY! The only way to regain what has been lost is to leave the nasty little club once and for all.

ENOUGH!

This land is your land and my land. It was fought for by our families who shed their blood for it. Millions of young men from all over the world shed their blood and sacrificed their lives and limbs and yes, even their sanity, to keep our freedom and our sovereignty alive. The Spitfire and Hurricane pilots spinning down to earth in a burning bullet riddled aircraft, did not give their all so some smarmy lawyer in the House of Commons could sell out their country for a trip on a corrupt power hungry gravy train in Brussels. The men who ran the beaches under a hail of burning lead and watched their young comrades being blasted apart did not do so in order to give this land away to some faceless unelected bureaucrat sitting on a pile of tax payers cash with a Soviet style hunger for power gnawing at his fat gut, to usurp that blood-won freedom.

Those things are not negotiable in order for businessmen and politicians to line their pockets with our money as the Kinnock’s and criminal Blair’s of this world do. Our freedom is not for sale so that millionaires get to amass even greater fortunes and build their dynasties on our backs. No slick lawyer or political rat, or even the Queen herself, has the right to sign away our freedoms and the legacy of young blood that bought them.

NO! HELL NO!

OUR HERITAGE, OUR FREEDOM AND OUR NATIOANAL IDENTITY

ARE NOT FOR SALE!

Get us out of the EU now!

"In the squares of the city - In the shadow of the steeple
Near the relief office - I see my people
And some are grumblin' and some are wonderin'
If this land's still made for you and me."
