Tamar presents some disturbing news items that could make it very difficult for U.S. Citizens to obtain or even re-new a U.S. Passport.   This could affect certain American Jews who wish to, for instance, make aliyah and move to Israel.
The U.S. State Department states on their website:   "

Beginning April 1, 2011, the U.S. Department of State will require the full names of the applicant’s parent(s) to be listed on all certified birth certificates to be considered as primary evidence of U.S. citizenship for all passport applicants, regardless of age.  Certified birth certificates missing this information will not be acceptable as evidence of citizenship. "

If you were born at home or had your birth registered late, a U.S. Passport may not be issued to you (or even re-newed) if you don't answer particular questions, such as who your mother's midwife was, and even if you were circumcised, and if so, was it a part of a religious ceremony?  Read about it here.
Also, will you be paying almost 4% tax on selling your house come January 1st, 2013?  See here about this new possible tax.
