Muslim Brotherhood's Abdel Moneim Fotouh runs for Egyptian president

Notwithstanding the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood's promise not to seek the presidency, Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh, 60, member of the MB's Shura Council, has announced he would run for president in Egypt's coming election albeit as an "independent," although no one doubts whom he represents.
April 29, DEBKA-Net-Weekly 490 revealed that Fotouh was MB's presidential candidate, the first publication to do so. Recently discovered by the American media, he is depicted as a progressive, moderate Muslim figure.

Osama bin Laden looked back at his last video

The al Qaeda leader never wavered from his basic conception that only a mega-attack on an American city devastating enough to rock the US economy would make Washington withdraw its forces from the Middle East. This is confirmed in the files taken from the Abbottabad villa after he was killed on May 2. Otherwise the materials examined so far contribute no hard intelligence to the war on al Qaeda or the prevention of another mega-attack in the US.
