Inquiry & Analysis No. 781—Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor/Palestinian Media Studies Project By: Steven Stalinsky* The MEMRI Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor tracks the multiple ways in which jihadi groups are using social media such as Facebook, YouTube, and now Twitter – including "tweeting" news flashes, reporting attacks, battles, and other operational activities, sharing videos, inciting to Jihad and more. See: This research also details Twitter's declared policy relating to U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organizations that use its service – a use that violates U.S. law and indirectly supports online jihad. The latest terrorist organization to begin tweeting, joining Hizbullah, the Somali Al-Qaeda linked group Al-Shabaab, the Taliban, and many others on which MEMRI will be reporting soon, is Hamas.
