How the Panther Floats Over Masada
IAI’s C²Strike is revealed – a combined tactical system for observation and assault direction
based on the capabilities of the Panther for vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL)

Israel Aerospace Industries is presently completing the development of its
C²Strike system, which integrates the observation and assault direction
capabilities for tactical use, while extensively utilizing the capabilities
of the Panther UAV, which also includes laser-marking capabilities.
Several weeks ago, IAI carried out successful demonstrations of the UAV in
front of potential foreign clients. In the framework of the demonstrations,
which were carried out near Masada, vertical takeoff and landings were
demonstrated, along with several passes between flight and glide stages and
back.
The C²Strike system is intended to improve the operational efficiency of the
tactical ground echelons in dealing with the threats of the ever-changing
combat field in the 21st century. The system implements IAI's comprehensive
connectivity solution, allowing the transfer of information between the
airborne observation systems and between the precision fire measures. These
are connected to a command and control system to enable an efficient, swift,
and precise process of identifying, locating, and hitting targets.
The Panther weighs approximately 65 kg, and takes off and lands while
hovering using three silent electrical thrusters. Through the use of Tilt
Rotor technology, the instrument can also hover over a designated point,
similar to a helicopter, and fly vertically like an airplane.
The Panther flies at an altitude of approximately 610 m above the ground,
and in an operational range between 25-50 km. It is equipped with automatic
flight control systems and carries a Mini-Pop electro-optic observation
system for day and night time operations, and its operation is carried out
from inside a portable command vehicle.
