Haaretz: Annexation would be the ruination of Israel
By Ted Belman
Haaretz just published, Getting in a terrible state, by Nehemia Shtrasler where he argues against annexation because we would end up with a bi-national state with a 60% majority leaving out Gaza. He acknowledges that the proponents of annexation intend to give citizenship because as MK Reuven Rivlin put it: “Better that the Palestinians be citizens of the state than divide the land.”
He limits his argument to one small fact as he puts it, and the economic consequences,
- “The annexation of 2.5 million Palestinians to the State of Israel means a bi-national state with a small, temporary Jewish majority – 60 percent Jews (6.3 million )and 40 percent Arabs (4.2 million ), and that is without Gaza. Thus, the end of the Zionist dream.”
The only problem is , it is not a fact but a lie. There are only 1.5 million Arabs in J&S and we would have a 67% majority with momentum favouring the Jews.

The Great Dismount: Appeasement and Cowardice regarding the Temple Mount
The Temple Mount in Jerusalem is the holiest place on earthaccording to Judaism. It is where both Biblical Temples stood, whose destruction is commemorated this week with fasting and mourning on the Ninth day of the month of Av according to the religious calendar. The Western Wall is considered holy only because of its proximity to the Temple Mount. Jews everywhere in the world pray while facing the Temple Mount, and if they were to pray on the Mount itself they would face the Holy of Holies, the singularity point in between the cherubs that were positioned on top of the Temple Ark inside the Temple. While God’s presence is everywhere, according to Judaism, its most intense concentration is at that point. The Western Wall is simply the guard wall around the perimeter of the Temple Mount, and is of Herodian (Roman) origin standing upon earlier Hasmonean foundations.

Israel: EU Attacks Us Because We’re Small
The EU is thus negating the provisions of Oslo and negating negotiations. The occupation is legal, the settlements are legal and Oslo and R242 permits both. The EU is our enemy. Ted Belman
Israeli officials on Tuesday slammed an EU directive that will bar all 28 member states from dealings with Jewish communities located beyond the 1949 Armistice lines, including eastern Jerusalem.
A high-ranking official, who requested anonymity, described the European Union’s move as a disproportionate “attack” on Israel.
“When it comes to disputed territories, the Europeans prefer to attack a small country like Israel instead of taking on more powerful states, because they’re afraid of retaliation.”
Israel was “only informed of the directive at the last moment,” he added.

Israel okays Egyptian infantry units’ entry to Sinai
Main anti-Morsi group calls to suspend Camp David accords;
Israel authorized the Egyptian army on Monday to deploy two infantry battalions in the Sinai Peninsula, despite the fact that an appendix to the peace treaty between the two countries forbids Egyptian military presence in the area.
The battalions are expected to deploy in the El-Arish and Rafah sectors as part of the effort to quell the increased Islamist terrorist activity, which included an attempt on the life of a senior military official.
The infantry battalions will enter Sinai to support the armored, engineering and special forces that are already operating there, with Israel’s authorization. Cairo fears the situation in Sinai will deteriorate further following the Muslim Brotherhood’s fall from power.

El-Sisi to US official: Don’t bully Cairo by threats to suspend military aid
Deputy Secretary of State William Burns, the first senior US official to visit Cairo since the military coup of July 3, exchanged tough talk with the coup leader, Defense minister Gen. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Monday, after he met interim President Adly Mansour and Prime Minister Hazem al-Beblawi.
The general frankly advised Washington to be more realistic about the situation in Egypt. Accordingly to DEBKAfile’s Middle East sources, El-Sisi asked Burns bluntly why the Obama administration backed the Muslim Brotherhood and appeared to accept an Egypt plunged in chaos and economic meltdown during Mohamed Morsi’s one-year presidency.
