THIS MAY JUST QUALIFY AS THE Sxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx T LETTER OF THE YEAR




SIR – The Government should think carefully before devoting more land to crops. This would leave less land for wind farms and other essential clean energy projects. The extra emissions generated from growing out of season crops at home could jeopardise our emission targets.

Britain has invested large amounts in the farming sectors of poorer countries. Emissions could rise and jobs overseas could be threatened if we reduce imports.
