July 28th, 2008

If this happened McCain would win the election. There are reports that this could happen this week, perhaps as early as tomorrow. The rumors are that McCain is enticing Powell by stating he will have a powerful role in a McCain administration and will have a huge hand in shaping Iraq war policy.
We shall see, this would be the only pick that would rock the media world.
Brown/Obama and the Jonah Effect. McCain be warned - don't meet Gordon Brown - the safety of the free world depends on it.
Guido Fawkes
The monthly USA Today / Gallup poll is the first post Obama-Brown meeting poll.
Guido can report that the Jonah effect has even diminished "the one".
This time last month Gallup reported that amongst likely voters McCain trailed Obama by 3% (44% against 47%). Since meeting Jonah Brown that position has reversed, McCain now leads by 4% (49% to 45%), a hefty 7% swing. In polling terms this is a McCain surge.

Bloody great thunder storm here in Suffolk last night. Rather like a towering Scotch rage. Woke me up. Then I remembered that Jonah was in the general area. I must say it made me giggle.

Gordon Brown during a press conference at 10 Downing Street last week.
Gordon Brown's standing was further undermined today as a Labour MP urged him to resign, new poll figures cast doubt on his performance, and Harriet Harman said voters had "not seen the best" of him since he became prime minister.
Gordon Prentice, the MP for Pendle, said that Brown ought to stand down because he did not have the skills to lead Labour to victory at the next election.
Prentice, an independent-minded backbencher but not someone who has called for Brown's resignation before, spoke out following a weekend of speculation about the existence of a Labour plot to oust Brown later this year.
In response to the reports, Harman, Labour's deputy leader, gave a generally supportive interview on GMTV this morning.
But even she conceded that the last 12 months had not seen Brown performing at his best.
Harman, who is deputising for Brown this week while the prime minister is on holiday, said: "I have got a great deal of confidence in Gordon Brown, having worked with him for 25 years.
"I can recognise that I don't think the British people have seen the best of him yet as prime minister.
"But the reason I so strongly support him is because the big problems people are facing in this country at this moment are the economy, the cost of fuel and food prices.

We, as parents, are well aware of the importance of our teachers who teach and program our children. We also know how important it is for our children to play with good-thinking children growing up.
Sen. Barack Obama has grown up with the teaching of very angry, militant white and black people: the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, William Ayers and Rev. Michael Pfleger. We cannot say we are not affected by teachers who are militant and angry. We know too well that we become like them, and Mr. Obama will run this country in their mindset.
The Democratic Party, in its quest for power, has managed a propaganda campaign with subliminal messages, creating a God-like figure in a man who falls short in every way. It seems to me that if Mr. Obama wins the presidential election, then Messrs. Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers and Pfleger will gain power for their need to demoralize this country and help create a socialist America.

Muslims storm Protestant school in Jakarta, injuring 265 students.
by Benteng Reges
Over the week-end Muslim fanatics target a Christian school in the capital's east side. Police evacuate the institute to protect students. Hundreds of police agents are now guarding it to prevent further violence.
Jakarta (AsiaNews) Police evacuated the Christian Theological Arastamar Institute (STT SETIA) which is located in an eastern district of the Indonesian capital after it suffered damages during clashes between Christians and Muslims over the week-end. At least 1,500 students were moved to nearby police headquarters and a local Christian-based political party. The situation remains critical and further violence between opposite factions cannot be ruled out.
"The school foundation urged us to intervene to protect people," said East Jakarta District Police Chief Senior Superintendent. "For this reason we moved everyone out."
Last night hundreds of residents from the village of Kampung Pulo had taken up arms threatening to storm the school after being instigated by an imam at a local mosque who claimed that a bunch of Christian gangsters were coming to "protect" the school after it was attacked on Saturday by a Muslim mob, causing damage to the building and hurting hundreds.
